About This School
A closer look at Elementary School
The Elementary School curriculum, grades 1 through 5, focuses on four core subject areas: English Language Arts, mathematics, science and social studies. Thinking Maps are used throughout the curriculum to help students understand abstract concepts. Most classes use American Sign Language, although a few classrooms use an auditory/oral approach to communication, and all classrooms have FM amplification systems. Individual and group speech therapy sessions are provided as indicated on each student's IEP. Learning is a collaborative effort between the teacher, the child and the family.
